Here is the press release:

The Texas Tornado completed a weekend sweep of the Odessa Jackalopes on Saturday with a 4-3 win at Dr Pepper Arena. Scott Conway scored twice, including the game-winning goal, while Justin Greenberg and Mitch McPherson each chipped in with a goal of their own. The Tornado peppered Jackalopes goaltender Blake Wojtala with 46 shots, while Hunter Leisner stopped 29 of the 32 that came his way for the victory.?

Odessa jumped out to the early lead on Friday, but on Saturday, the Tornado scored at the 3:45 mark of the first. As C.J.Reuschlein fired a shot from the left-wing boards, Greenberg had his stick ready for the deflection. The puck was in mid-air, but Greenberg was able to get his stick on it anyway and beat Wojtala for the goal.?

?

With less than a minute left in the first, Texas scored again to extend their lead to two. From his own blue line, Jason Eddy shot a cross-ice pass to Brandon Hawkins. Hawkins took the puck into the zone before finding Conway waiting at the near post for the first of his two goals. The marker gave the Tornado a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

?

Odessa got on the board early in the second as Anthony Olguin skated into the zone on a 3-on-1 and snapped a wrist shot past Leisner?s blocker. But the Tornado regained their two-goal lead as McPherson cashed in on the power-play. With the puck pinballing around out in front, McPherson dropped to his knees, but was still able to put it in as he was falling down to make it a 3-1 Tornado lead.?

?

Texas kept its two-goal advantage into the third period, but Odessa scored early in the third as Matt Volonnino ripped another wrist shot past Leisner. About midway through the period, Conway picked up his second goal after stuffing home a wraparound attempt. The goal was initially waved off, but referee Robert Lukkason changed his call to give the Tornado a 4-2 lead. Just over a minute later, Ryan Doucet found Josh Racek out front for his first goal of the season to once again cut the lead to one.

?

The clock continued to tick down in the third period, forcing the Jackalopes to pull their goaltender in favor of the extra attacker. Even with a 6-on-5 advantage, Odessa couldn?t even the score and Texas came away with the win. The Tornado return to the ice on Thursday and Friday, with home games against the Corpus Christi IceRays. Game time on both nights is 7:30 p.m.
